What is SafeRound?
SafeRound is a Google Sheets add-on that rounds numbers using an iterative process that preserves the original total. It adjusts individual values up or down to ensure the final sum stays exact. Designed for finance professionals, analysts, and others who need clean, accurate data without compromising totals.

Getting Started
- Install SafeRound from Google Workspace Marketplace
- Open Google Sheets
- Access SafeRound from the Add-ons menu or by using
=SAFEROUND()
- Highlight the cells to be processed
- Choose the number of decimals (e.g., 0 for whole numbers, 2 for cents)
- SafeRound uses an iterative rounding algorithm to adjust values while preserving the total sum
- Decide whether to overwrite the data or display the rounded values in a new sheet
